था :
(१) राष्ट्रपति, उपराष्ट्रपति, प्रधानमन्त्री, प्रधान न्यायाधीश, प्रतिनिधि सभाका सभामखु , राष्ट्रिय सभाका अध्यक्ष, प्रदेश प्रमुख, मुख्यमन्त्री, प्रदेश सभाको सभामुख र सुरक्षा निकायका प्रमुखको पदमा निर्वाचित, मनोनीत वा नियुक्ति हुन वंशजको आधारमा नेपालको नागरिकता प्राप्त गरेको हुनु पर्नेछ ।
(२) उपधारा
(१) मा उल्लिखित पद बाहेक अन्य संवैधानिक निकायको पदमा यस संविधान बमोजिम नियुक्तिको लागि वंशजको आधारमा नेपालको नागरिकता प्राप्त गरेको व्यक्ति, नेपालको अंगीकृत नागरिकता प्राप्त गरेको व्यक्ति वा जन्मको आधारमा नेपालको नागरिकता प्राप्त गरेको व्यक्ति समेत योग्य हुनेछ । तर नेपालको अंगीकृत नागरिकता प्राप्त गरेको व्यक्तिको हकमा कम्तीमा दश वर्ष, जन्मको आधारमा नेपालको नागरिकता प्राप्त गरेको व्यक्ति र धारा ११ को उपधारा
(६) बमोजिम नेपालको अंगीकृत नागरिकता प्राप्त गरेको व्यक्तिको हकमा कम्तीमा पाँच वर्ष नेपालमा बसोबास गरेको हुनु पर्नेछ ।
(1) In order for a person to be elected, nominated or appointed to the office of President, Vice-President, Prime Minister, Chief Justice, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chief of State, Chief Minister, Speaker of a State Assembly and chief of a security body, the person must have obtained the citizenship of Nepal by descent.
(2) A person who has obtained the citizenship of Nepal by descent, a person who has obtained the naturalized citizenship of Nepal or a person who has obtained the citizenship of Nepal by birth shall also be qualified for the office of a constitutional body other than that mentioned in clause
(1). Provided that the person must have resided in Nepal for at least ten years in the case of a person who has obtained the naturalized citizenship of Nepal, and for at least five years in the case of a person who has obtained the citizenship of Nepal by birth or who has obtained the naturalized citizenship of Nepal in accordance with clause
(6) of Article 11. 204
