Basanta Kumar Shrestha is the Mayor of Baglung Municipality in Gandaki Province, elected on the Nepali Congress ticket in May 2022. He has overseen civic initiatives such as declaring the municipality a “child-friendly city” and launching a “zero waste” campaign for proper waste management and infrastructure improvement.
