Dr. Ram Baran Yadav is a physician-turned-politician who made history as the first President of Nepal, serving from July 2008 until October 2015 after the country abolished its monarchy. A long-time leader of the Nepali Congress, Yadav previously served as Minister of Health. Coming from Sapahi in Dhanusha (Terai region), he played a unifying role in Nepal’s transition to a republic, advocating for inclusivity, democracy, and national stability.
