However, direct communication represents only one pillar of a healthy democracy. The second, equally vital pillar is accountability through rigorous, independent questioning.

Why This Matters Now

• Addressing the Silence: Since taking office, there has been a noticeable absence of long-form, traditional media engagements. While your digital presence is innovative, it cannot replace the essential "checks and balances" provided by an inquisitive and independent press.

• Strengthening Public Trust: A leader who stands before the press to answer difficult questions demonstrates both confidence and a deep respect for the public’s right to information. This bridge is crucial for reaching all segments of the population, including those who may not engage with social media.

• National Leadership: As a prominent figure in Nepali politics, your transition from local governance to national vision requires a higher level of public scrutiny and intellectual exchange.

We suggest the discussion cover the following critical areas:

1. Reflections on Governance: A candid review of your tenure as Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

सन् २०२२ को स्थानीय निर्वाचनमा तपाईंको ऐतिहासिक विजयपश्चात्, तपाईंले सामाजिक सञ्जालको प्रयोग गरी जनतासँग प्रत्यक्ष जोडिने एक परिवर्तनकारी नेतृत्व शैलीको सुरुवात गर्नुभयो। यद्यपि, प्रत्यक्ष संवाद स्वस्थ लोकतन्त्रको एउटा खम्बा मात्र हो। यसको दोस्रो र उत्तिकै महत्त्वपूर्ण खम्बा भनेको स्वतन्त्र र सूक्ष्म प्रश्नहरू मार्फत गरिने जवाफदेहिता हो।

• मौनताको सम्बोधन: पदभार ग्रहण गरेदेखि नै, परम्परागत सञ्चार माध्यमहरूसँगको लामो र विस्तृत संवादको उल्लेखनीय अभाव देखिएको छ। तपाईंको डिजिटल उपस्थिति नवीन भए तापनि, यसले जिज्ञासु र स्वतन्त्र प्रेसले गर्ने 'सन्तुलन र नियन्त्रण' (checks and balances) को अभावलाई पूर्ति गर्न सक्दैन।

• जनविश्वासको सुदृढीकरण: कठिन प्रश्नहरूको सामना गर्न प्रेसको अगाडि उभिने नेताले आफ्नो आत्मविश्वास र सूचनाको हकप्रति जनताको सम्मान दुवै प्रदर्शन गर्दछ। सामाजिक सञ्जालमा सक्रिय नहुने नागरिकहरूसम्म पुग्न यो सेतु अत्यन्त आवश्यक छ।

• राष्ट्रिय नेतृत्व: नेपाली राजनीतिको एक प्रमुख व्यक्तित्वको रूपमा, स्थानीय शासनबाट राष्ट्रिय सोचतर्फको तपाईंको यात्रामा उच्च स्तरको सार्वजनिक छानबिन र बौद्धिक आदानप्रदानको आवश्यकता रहन्छ।

प्रस्तावित अन्तर्वार्ताका विषयवस्तुहरू

हामी निम्न महत्वपूर्ण क्षेत्रहरूमा केन्द्रित भई छलफल गर्न सुझाव दिन्छौँ:

१. शासन व्यवस्थामा प्रतिबिम्ब: काठमाडौँ महानगरपालिकाको प्रमुखका रूपमा तपाईंको कार्यकालको स्पष्ट समीक्षा।

२. वैचारिक खाका: तपाईंको राजनीतिक र दार्शनिक आधारहरूको स्पष्ट व्याख्या।

३. संस्थागत निष्ठा: नेपाल सरकारका निकायहरूभित्र बलियो सन्तुलन र नियन्त्रणको संयन्त्र निर्माण गर्ने तपाईंको प्रतिबद्धता।

४. जेन-जी (Gen-Z) को जनादेश: युवा पुस्ताको ऊर्जा र अपेक्षाहरूलाई संस्थागत गर्ने तपाईंको दृष्टिकोण।

५. नेपालको परिकल्पना: तपाईंले निर्माण गर्न चाहेको "नयाँ नेपाल" को विस्तृत खाका।
